AI MICRO POLICY

Treatment of AI-Assisted Submissions (Accessibility Cases)

1. Scope

This internal policy regulates the treatment of submissions in which Artificial Intelligence is used strictly as an assistive tool due to disability or accessibility needs, in accordance with Article 14 of the Official Rules.

2. Definition

For the purposes of EIMA evaluation:

  • AI-Created Work: A work substantially generated by artificial intelligence in its compositional, lyrical, or production structure.

  • AI-Assisted Work: A predominantly human-created work in which AI technology is used as a support or execution tool (e.g., vocal synthesis, accessibility software, adaptive instruments).

Only AI-Assisted Works may be considered eligible, provided they comply with Article 14.

3. Eligibility Conditions

An AI-assisted submission may proceed to evaluation when:

  1. Human creative contribution exceeds 50% of the overall production.

  2. AI usage is formally declared at the time of submission.

  3. The Evaluation Committee confirms compliance with the Official Rules.

4. Blind Review Integrity

To preserve meritocracy and impartiality:

  • Judges shall not be informed of:

    • The presence of disability

    • Personal background circumstances

    • The assistive nature of AI use

  • Judges evaluate exclusively based on:

    • Originality

    • Production Quality

    • Innovation

    • Emotional Impact

    • Performance/Artistry

5. Certificates and Public Recognition

To avoid discrimination, differentiation, or reputational bias:

  • Certificates (Nominee or Winner) shall remain identical in format and content for all participants.

  • No reference to disability shall appear on official certificates.

  • Technical disclosure of AI usage shall not be displayed on certificates unless EIMA establishes a dedicated AI category in the future.

Transparency is fulfilled through:

  • The Official Rules (Article 14)

  • The mandatory declaration process

  • Internal documentation retained by the Organizer

6. Data Protection

Information regarding disability or assistive needs:

  • Is treated as confidential.

  • Is not disclosed publicly.

  • Is processed in compliance with GDPR standards.

7. Future Developments

EIMA reserves the right to create:

  • A dedicated AI or AI-Hybrid category

  • A specific recognition for Innovation in Accessible Music Production

Until such category exists, AI-assisted works that comply with the rules compete within standard categories.
